You probably wouldn’t be familiar with me, so let’s keep my name unknown for now till later.
Here’s a part of my story I will love to share with you. It’s one of my life’s tales I would love you to learn from.
It was an era when wars were fought and certain persons were chosen as captains to lead the war at that time. In my country, we usually enjoy peace until we did certain things that called for war. Mind you, captains were like kings in those days. Let’s say Presidents or Governors in your present time.
My background and nature of my birth had a say in my life. All these affected me and my stand in the society. It even got to a stage that my siblings, people I called family, detested me and sent me away from my father’s house because my mom wasn’t a legitimate wife. She was called a strange woman. It wasn’t something you can be proud of.
Although I was considered a mighty man of valour (a valiant warrior), someone who had the strength of mind in regard to danger yet I was still called the son of a prostitute.
So I fled from my brothers and settled in a new land, where a gang of scoundrels gathered around me and followed me.
Thinking about it, should anything good still come out of my life. You could imagine the people who got attracted to my life.
I had moved on, but I had an issue with my self-worth and all that I been through.
Guess what? War broke out from my native country, where I was chased away. Another country made war with my country, and no person could help them fight the war.
The “elders” of that country came to where I was to seek my help. They said, “come and be our leader”. Those words were mighty in my ears. How on earth should someone like me be called to lead such people.
At the end of it all, God helped me win the battle. I was a judge for six years.
Although there is more to my story than I have told you. I encourage you never to lose hope. Keep your hope alive.
You never can tell what God has in store for you irrespective of what man has ever done to you.
On your part, never look down on yourself and anyone because the tide is prone to change. Today it’s this tomorrow it’s another. Your time is yet to come, and trust me it’s coming in a big way. Just keep hope alive.
There is more to you than you ever imagined!
Oh! I promised to tell you my name. There are other things written about me. No worries, I will give you a reference.
Judges 11:1Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.
I hope you were inspired by Jephthah’s story? There is still hope for you, and God still has you in mind. Remember His words.
Jeremiah 29:11 CSBFor I know the plans I have for you” — this is the Lord ’s declaration — “plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Don’t be frustrated!
