Waiting for the perfect time

I have a story to tell!

Did someone say it’s an old book? Maybe yours haven’t been touched or opened for a long time.

Relax, you will understand. Let’s go back in time.

Sometimes between 550–486 BCE, an event happened which got my attention. Thankfully I was able to learn something significant about time from that event. The inspiration of the almighty still gives understanding.

It’s a story between the kingdoms and personalities of different nations. They were the Israelites, the Babylonian King, and the Persian governor with his officials of the province west of the Euphrates River.

The Israelites had sinned against God and got their reward as God punished them after several warnings and patience. They had served as exiles in Babylon for seventy years.

After this time, the Jewish exiles of the provinces were deported to Babylon by king Nebuchadnezzar. They returned to Jerusalem and the other towns in Judah where they originally lived.

Families returned home and to their tribe. Thankfully, some were able to get recognized as part of their tribe since documentation could prove their lineage. Some couldn’t since their names weren’t recorded.

The Temple of God needed to be built.

God was in control, and there was a great deal of abundance.

In all of these, there were the people headed by a governor called Tattenai. Envy, jealousy, or you give it a name. They were angry at the development of the Jewish exiles who wanted to build a temple for God.

They offered to help but were denied the opportunity. Who should be angry for being refused to help? Their heart wasn’t even right after all. It was just deceit in disguise.

What was the next thing to do?

Come on! Why should you now report?

The envious ones knew what to do and were smart at their craft. You should read their letter. It was written with so much dexterity and carefulness.

It was a letter written to a great king who had a sovereign power at that time.

But because their God was watching over them, the Jews were not prevented from building until a report was sent to Darius and he returned his decision.

Read that again! Here’s it!

The Jews were about to be stopped from continuing a project just because they were threatened by a group of people who were serious about their threat. They were intentional about reporting them and weren’t going to stop for anything.

Then, it was a moment of leaving everything the way it was, but they were different. They decided to keep building even while the report was being sent.

Thankfully, by the grace of God, it ended up being in their favour.

What if they had stopped building? What if hands were down due to the threat? For that time frame, they would have waited, a lot would have been covered and at the end, if they had stopped, they would have lost the value of what time could have offered them.

Learn how to maximize your time. The perfect time does not always come. How much time would have wasted waiting for the response of the King? A lot can be done while all isn’t yet ready.

God gives grace, and He gives time. Indeed make hay while the sun shines.
