Happy new month 😄 🎉🎉
Often, we neglect what encouragement has done and will ever do, that we refuse to give it out. To ourselves, and even to others, it goes a long way to help.
At times, you can get fed up with certain life processes, dreams, aspirations, or desires, and all you ever long for is encouragement coming in numerous forms.
In one way or the other, God has a way of gearing up one’s spirit, and you sure can be a person who makes this possible.
While I had thought to leave the conclusion of the previous story to you all, little did I know that some of you desired that I concluded it. No worries 😃, you have the concluding part here.
Let’s dive right in.
8 Ways to encourage others:
1. Speak positively to others
There are certain places material things would not be able to push you through. Far beyond currencies, you never can tell the role your words play in encouraging others. Your words can be worth more than gold. It only depends on the way you use them and the time you do.
Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
For days, Tunmise battled with the words spoken by the passerby, not until he met across someone who was amazed at how creative he was. He chose to disregard the hurting words of the passerby, the man who had caused a great deal of depression to him. Thank God he met another person who spoke positively to him.
2. Smile
An encouraging smile is a powerful thing. You only have to use it well. A radiant face speaks, so does a frowning face. After you tasted the food or got a gift, remember to smile. Even if it’s a lame joke made to put a smile on your face smile.
Your facial expression also conveys a message to the hearts of others, so smile. It’s beautiful.
3. Let people know that you pray for them
How do you feel when you are not alone asking or requesting something from someone in a high position? Let’s say that you also have others who join you in your request for a particular thing, position, or entitlement.
Praying for people who you know are going through certain situations is a big way to help. Letting them know revives hope in their hearts and puts a smile on their faces.
What about your pastors, parents, siblings, teachers, helpers, friends? You can pray for them deliberately and right on your knees send help to them wherever they may be. Your prayers are very important to them.
4. Let them know that you appreciate them
If you could recall, one thing that brought Tunmise back to his feet was when his creativity was appreciated.
Appreciation goes a long way to help a fainting heart, and so, things done for you shouldn’t be taken for granted. You hurt those who do good to you when you fail to encourage them by appreciating them.
Don’t be that thirsty until you know the beauty of a “tasteless water”.
5. Listen
So, whenever you get involved in a conversation, remember to be a ready listener because sometimes your contributions in reply may not be needed. At times all that is needed from you is a ear that listens beyond words.
Rather than rushing to speak all that you know, a listening ear is all that some persons need to move on in life or put things in place.
6. See something, say something
All around you are some people who battle with their self worth thinking they amount to nothing.
You can encourage them by telling them about the unique things that you observed or have noticed in them. This isn’t something that stems from the heart that flatters or resounds in hypocrisy. It is genuine.
7. Be encouraged
Would a discouraged person encourage others?
The Bible tells about David who encouraged himself in the Lord at a point in time when he had his family, people, and belongings were taken away from him. Even the people left wanted to stone him out of frustration and annoyance.
He encouraged himself in the Lord and in the end, he wasn’t disappointed for he recovered all things with the help of God.
8. Give the financial drive
Ideas and inventions aren’t built on false expectations or hopes alone. As little as it may be, give. You never can tell the length your money can go to help a dream or vision.
Acts 11:29 [AMP]
So the disciples resolved to send relief, each according to his individual ability [in proportion as he had prospered], to the brethren who lived in Judea.
There are numerous ways to encourage yourself and others. The value of encouragement is priceless for its worth is more than you can imagine.
You would be surprised to know that this blog post you are reading was inspired by a comment given by an “unregistered fan” months ago. His comment encouraged me to write this, and with the help of the Holy Spirit this came up.
It’s a surprise though. To encourage two of my friends who just started their YouTube channel I will be sharing a link to their space on YouTube. I would love it if you could subscribe and watch what they have decided to offer. Just click the buttons below and there you go. 🤗
