He had always been a good person to others. His conversation was usually unique and graceful . Trust me when he speaks to you, you would feel enlivened.
One day a secret was out. He spoke that way to others but was always harsh in his words to himself.
He got a reply from a very close friend who heard him say those negative and harsh words to himself. His friend said:
Since God wouldn’t love that you are offensive towards others in your speech, don’t you think he wouldn’t love the same when you are to yourself?
That was it. He got the message. He knew he also needed those kind words of his. His tongue wasn’t only to bless others, it was also made to bless himself.
Colossians 4:6 KJV
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
You are one of everyone who needs those words seasoned with grace and salt. Since God wouldn’t love that you abuse a person with your words, He wouldn’t love the same when you abuse yourself with your own words. You are also precious in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:10 KJV
For He that will love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:
