Listening beyond words

The human mind sometimes chooses to Interpret words faster than what is meant. Who really has the time to start questioning the numerous possibilities a word can mean?

Almost every conflict, misunderstanding, and argument draws strength from our rapid interpretation of words when we give no time for thoughts and processing.

Most times, we all fall victims to these issues whereby we judge so quickly without hearing the whole truth. Here’s a word for you.

Proverbs 18:13

AMP He who answers a matter before he hears the factsโ€”it is folly and shame to him.

Sincerely, understanding the person of God will go a long way in your relationship with others. Were there times you muttered some words in despair entirely different from what you desire within you? It’s like the conflict of words when what you say is different from what you mean.

At those times, you find no exact words to express yourself, and it’s like a groaning which can’t be uttered. Surprisingly you end up having God addressing that issue you need far beyond the description of your wants. Indeed, He listens beyond words and so should you to others.

James 1:19b

Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.

Weighing words may be very difficult when we already have a conclusion in our minds before we even listen. At such times it becomes so difficult to pass a message across from the point of understanding.

It is true some persons are so quick to respond. The effort shouldn’t always be on the listener. A speaker should learn how to communicate effectively without passing a message in a confusing manner that will require more questions and cause dispute. Who knows, a crack on the wall might be prevented.

With individuals’ temperament and personalities, there is a sure difference in the way we are receptive to words. Irrespective of these differences and long-time habits that have been formed, with the help of the Holy Spirit we sure can have our weaknesses overcome by God’s strength.

So, whenever you get involved in a conversation, remember to be a ready listener because sometimes your contributions in reply may not be needed. At times all that is needed from you is a ear that listens beyond words.

Thanks so much for taking the time to get to this point. You are loved ๐Ÿ˜. Stay safe! Shalom ๐Ÿ˜„

    1. Yeah, sometimes most people just need a listening heart. When and what time we are to contribute is what we should be sensitive to.

  1. When we get anxious, we need to be on the lookout for ways that God is helping us. Donโ€™t live frustrated. Trust that God is in control, that Heโ€™s not only directing your steps, but also directing the steps of the people you need. Heโ€™s putting you in the right place at the right time. Live in peace, knowing that the Creator of the universe has ordained your future. At the appointed time, youโ€™ll come into destiny moments, where God thrusts you to new levels! Share this with someone you love and be blessed!

  3. Interesting read! words have the power to transform into what you want them to be…. its scary and beautiful at the same time. But you’re right… you have to understand from the perspective of the one speaking.. because the one hearing can decipher it into different things!
